COMMUNITY MIDWIFE
Youngballymun is part of the national Area-Based Childhood (ABC)
programme focused on improving wellbeing and learning outcomes for
children. The ABC Programme aims to break the cycle of child poverty
in areas where children are most disadvantaged, using evidence based
programmes and supporting integrated effective service delivery.
Youngballymun’s vision is that children and families in Ballymun are
physically and emotionally healthy and secure and have multiple
opportunities to reach their full potential. Youngballymun works
collaboratively with our partner organisations to deliver better
outcomes for children and families to make this vision a reality.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The role of the Community Midwife is to work with management and staff
in Youngballymun, as well as community partners including the HSE and
maternity hospitals to develop a strategy to support the needs of
expectant parents as well as new parents and their infants in
Ballymun. This involves providing both universal and targeted outreach
and centre based supports to parents and infants in the ante and
post-natal period
This post is for * hours per week and is funded
through the HSE for a 3 year initial contract. A probationary period
of 6 months will apply.
